A Chino Hills pool finished in blue quartz with a new Baja step, new tile, tile carried around the fire pit, new equipment, LED lights and an automation upgrade so the homeowners run their pool from their phone.
Pool Remodel in Chino Hills · 0:30
The interior is finished in blue quartz. Quartz sits between white plaster and pebble: longer-lasting than plaster, with a wide range of colors, and a smooth feel underfoot.
A Baja step was added during the remodel: a wide, shallow shelf for lounging and sitting in the water. Adding one is best done while the pool is drained and the shell is open for the new finish, so it was built in the same window.
New tile went in at the pool, and the same design was carried around the fire pit, so the pool and the fire pit read as one finished backyard rather than two separate projects.
The pump and heater were replaced, and the automation was upgraded so the homeowners can run the pool from their phone. With automation, turning on the heater, switching the lights or adjusting the pump schedule no longer means a walk out to the equipment pad.
The pool lights were replaced with new LED lights at the same time.
