Working on Santa Ana Pools
Santa Ana has some of the oldest pools we work on. The city built out in waves from the 1920s onward, and the neighborhoods that came with pools — Floral Park, Washington Square and the tracts that followed them — have shells that have been resurfaced two or three times already. Age on its own is not the problem. What matters is whether the last resurface went over a surface that should have been cut back first.
The other thing we see here is equipment that has outlived its plumbing. A new pump bolted onto forty-year-old lines does not perform the way the box says it will, and it is usually the plumbing rather than the pump that decides the result. We would rather tell you that before you buy the pump than after.
