Local Knowledge

Pool Pumps in Anaheim

Anaheim is really two pool markets wearing one name. West and central Anaheim is flat older tract housing, and the pools are mostly straightforward bodies of water still running on close to their original plumbing. Anaheim Hills, east of the 55 and up along the 91, is cut into hillsides — larger lots, far more spas, and equipment pads set at a genuine elevation difference from the pool.

So an identical failed pump means different things depending on which side of the city you are on. Down on the flats it is usually age, plus lines that have narrowed over forty years. Up in the Hills it is more often a pump that was never sized for the lift it has to overcome and has been working too hard ever since. Both are fixable. They are not fixed the same way, and a quote given without knowing which one you have is a guess.

Symptoms and Fixes

Why Anaheim pumps fail

What you are seeing

  • An older tract pool whose pump has simply run out of life
  • Loss of prime in Anaheim Hills where the pad sits above the waterline
  • Screaming bearings, or a motor that has started to smell hot
  • Leaks at the shaft seal or the pump housing
  • Repeated breaker trips
  • A pool that will not clear no matter how many hours it runs

What we install and repair

We install Jandy FloPro and Pentair IntelliFlo VSF variable-speed pumps. As an authorized Jandy service provider we can diagnose Jandy equipment properly, get real parts rather than aftermarket approximations, and put a three-year warranty on Jandy units we install.

  • Jandy FloPro variable-speed pumps, with a three-year warranty as an authorized Jandy service provider
  • Pentair IntelliFlo VSF and SuperFlo VS variable-speed pumps
  • Diagnostic service calls where somebody else has already replaced parts without fixing it
  • Suction-line and pad plumbing repair on the older west Anaheim tracts

FAQ

Common Questions

Do you cover Anaheim Hills as well as Anaheim?
Both, and it is worth saying they are genuinely different jobs. Anaheim Hills lots sit on grade, which changes how a pump has to be sized, and there are far more pools with attached spas up there. The flats are older plumbing and older pumps. Same city, different diagnosis.
Someone already replaced my pump and the problem is still there. Can you look at it?
Yes, and that is a call we take often. A pump swap that did not fix it usually means the pump was not the fault — suction-side air, a blocked line, a failed valve or an electrical issue. We do diagnostic service calls specifically for this.
What does being an authorized Jandy service provider actually get me?
Three practical things: we can read Jandy equipment properly rather than guessing at it, we get genuine parts, and Jandy equipment we install carries a three-year warranty. It is also how a fair number of customers find us — through Jandy's own site.
Is a pump repair standalone work, or do I need a remodel?
Standalone, year round. Most of our equipment calls have no remodel attached at all.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. CSLB License #1075061, bonded and insured, BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, working Orange County pools since 2014.
