Do you repair pool heaters in Fullerton?

Yes — heater repair, replacement and first-time installs in Fullerton. A lot of pools here never had a heater at all, which makes it a gas-supply job as much as a heater job. We work that out before quoting.

Local Knowledge

Pool Heaters in Fullerton

Plenty of Fullerton pools were built before a heater was standard equipment, which means two quite different jobs turn up in this city. One is a heater from the eighties or nineties that has finally given out. The other is a pool that has never had one, and an owner who has decided the swim season should be longer than three months.

The second is more work than people expect, and it is rarely the heater that makes it so. Running a new gas line to the pad on an older Fullerton property means working out what the meter can actually supply, what else is drawing on it, and what route the line can take. We settle that before quoting, because a heater sized past what the supply can feed will nuisance-fault for as long as you own it.

Symptoms and Fixes

What brings us out to a Fullerton heater

What you are seeing

  • An older unit that lights, then drops out as soon as it is under load
  • Ignition lockout, or a control board that has started throwing codes
  • A heat exchanger rusted through — generally the end of that unit
  • Years of unbalanced water leaving scale that restricts flow
  • No heater at all, and a season you would like to extend at both ends
  • A heater that cannot bring a spa up in any reasonable time

What we install and repair

We install Pentair MasterTemp and Jandy JXi gas heaters, generally in the 400,000 BTU class for a pool with a spa. On these older properties the gas supply and the run to the pad get checked as part of the quote, not discovered on install day.

  • Pentair MasterTemp 400 gas heaters
  • Jandy JXi and JXiQ gas heaters, three-year warranty as an authorized Jandy service provider
  • First-time heater installs, including the new gas run to the pad
  • Control board, ignition and limit-switch repair on units worth keeping

What Customers Said

About heater work

“I had them install a pool heater, a salt cell, and a pump. I usually give it a year before penning a review. Although the salt cell did begin to leak and malfunction a few months in, Ace promptly addressed the issue. They repaired the leak and replaced the cell under warranty without any hassle.”

Yelp review

“I recently had the heater on my pool repaired with Ace, it could not have gone better. They provided a very competitive quote in a few minutes, performed the work the next day. The technician, Derrick, could not have been more professional.”

FAQ

Common Questions

My pool has never had a heater. What is involved in adding one?
More than the heater. The unit itself is the straightforward part. The work is in the gas — what the meter can supply, what else is on it, the pipe size and the route to the equipment pad — plus the electrical and the plumbing tie-in. On an older Fullerton property that assessment is the first thing we do, because it decides what size heater is realistic.
How long does a heater last?
It varies enormously with water chemistry. Balanced water and a heater can run a long time; years of aggressive or scaling water will take the exchanger out early. When we see a unit that has failed young, the chemistry is usually the story rather than the brand.
Can you repair my existing heater instead of replacing it?
Where it makes sense, yes — boards, ignitors, limit switches, gas valves and pressure switches are all repairable items. A corroded heat exchanger generally is not worth it. We will tell you which one you have and what each option costs.
How far is your shop from Fullerton?
In it. Our shop is on Imperial Highway. We do not publish a guaranteed response time, but Fullerton is the shortest drive we make.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. CSLB License #1075061, bonded and insured, BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, local since 2014.
