The finished Anaheim pool remodel with a custom sculpted rock slide, Tropics Blue pebble finish and a new Baja shelf
Anaheim, CA

A Plain Backyard Pool, Rebuilt Around a Custom Rock Slide

A dated kidney pool with a diving board became a backyard with its own sculpted rock slide, built with integrated steps rather than dropped in as a kit. A Baja shelf went into the shell at the same time, and the equipment pad, skimmer and plumbing lines were all replaced.

The interior finish on this one is a custom StoneScapes blend — Aqua Cool mini pebble mixed with crushed abalone shell and blue glass, so it reads differently depending on where the light is. Cordova Creme travertine coping, an Angeles Courtyard paver deck and a full Jandy equipment replacement.

The finished Fullerton pool remodel with a StoneScapes Aqua White mini pebble finish and an expanded Angeles Courtyard Tuscan paver deck
Fullerton, CA

A Tired Pool and a Cracked Deck, Rebuilt in Our Own Backyard

A few minutes from our own shop. The deck was cracked and undersized, so it was enlarged as well as replaced. Underneath the finish work, the skimmer and plumbing lines were replaced and an autofill was added — the parts nobody sees, which are usually what decides how the next twenty years go.

What Is Actually In One

What a Full Remodel Covers

Not every pool needs all of it. The estimate is itemized, so you can see what each line costs and take one off if you want to.

  • Drain, demo and shell prepThe old surface comes off and the shell gets checked before anything new goes on it.
  • Waterline and trim tileReplaced, not cleaned. Tile is where a remodel either looks new or looks patched.
  • CopingTravertine, poured-in-place or paver, depending on the deck it has to meet.
  • Interior finishStoneScapes mini pebble on all four of these. Quartz and plaster are also available.
  • DeckingAngeles pavers on three of the four here. Concrete and stamped work too.
  • EquipmentPumps, filters, heaters, automation and lighting — Pentair and Jandy.
  • Plumbing and skimmersReplaced when they need it. Three of these four did.
  • Fittings, drain covers and start-upNew, to current code, with the finish brought up properly rather than left to you.
Materials

What We Build With

The same names keep appearing on these four because they are what we specify, not what a supplier had left.

StoneScapes

Mini pebble in Tropics Blue, Aqua White, Aqua Cool and Aqua Blue — and custom blends like the abalone shell and blue glass mix in Tustin.

Angeles Pavers

Courtyard style, in Tuscan and Gray/Copper/Charcoal on the projects here.

Tile

NPT, Fujiwa, Aquabella and Noble. Waterline and trim are specified separately, not bought as a set.

Pentair & Jandy

Pumps, filters, heaters and automation. We are a Jandy authorized service provider.

“Alec and Albert are both great guys to work with. Did a pool/spa remodel and could not be happier with the result. Completed the project sooner than expected and exceeded all expectations.”

FAQ

Common Questions

Are these your own projects?
Yes. Every project on this page was built by ACE and photographed on our own job sites. The materials listed on each one are the actual products that went into that pool, not a representative example.
Only four projects — is that everything you have done?
No, not remotely. These are the four we have documented end to end, with the full material list and finished photography. We have been remodeling Orange County pools since 2014. We would rather publish four builds properly than fifty photos with no information attached to them.
What does a remodel like these cost?
It depends entirely on scope, which is why every one of these lists what actually went into it. Resurfacing on its own starts at $9,850, including demo, new fittings, drain covers and full start-up. Tile, coping, decking, new features and equipment are each priced separately, and the estimate is itemized so you can see what you are paying for and take a line off it if you want.
Do you build the whole thing yourselves, or subcontract it?
Both, depending on the trade. The pool work itself is ours. On a full remodel some scopes — decking, electrical, gas — bring in specialist trades we have worked with for years. Either way it runs under our license and our warranty, and you deal with us, not with them.
Can I see something like my own pool before I commit?
Ask when we come out. These four are the written-up ones, but we have photos of a lot more than four remodels, and it is usually quicker to show you two that match your shape and your budget than to have you guess from a gallery.

Want Yours On This Page?

We will come out, look at the pool and give you a real, itemized number. No travel fees, no pressure.
