What We Do

Pool Remodel, Pool Resurfacing and Pool Repair in Orange County

Two halves of the same business. We rebuild tired pools — pool resurfacing, replaster, tile, coping and decking — and we keep working pools running, with pool equipment repair on the pad behind them. Most Orange County homeowners find us for one and come back for the other.

Pool Resurfacing & Replaster

A pool resurfacing or full replaster in StoneScapes Mini Pebble, with eight colors to choose from. The finish is what you swim against every day, so it is the decision we spend the most time on.

Pool resurfacing & replaster →

Full Pool Remodel

A full pool remodel takes in the finish, waterline tile, coping, decking and often the equipment pad in one sequenced job — which costs less in labor than doing each piece a year apart.

Full pool remodel →

Pool Pump Repair & Installation

Most pool pump calls end in a repair. A new pool pump is usually about moving to variable speed rather than about failure — and it is the one upgrade that pays for itself on the power bill.

Pool pump repair & installation →

Pool Heater Repair & Installation

Ignitors, flame sensors, pressure switches and thermostats are routine pool heater repairs. A new pool heater is the answer once Orange County hard water has scaled the heat exchanger through.

Pool heater repair & installation →

Pool Filter Repair & Installation

Ripped DE grids and torn cartridges are a pool filter repair. A new pool filter is for a cracked tank, or one old enough that parts are getting hard to source.

Pool filter repair & installation →

Pool Salt System Repair

A salt cell is a consumable part, so most pool salt system work ends in a replacement cell. A proper diagnostic tells you whether it is the cell, the flow switch, or nothing wrong with the system at all.

Pool salt system repair →

Pool Automation Repair & Installation

When automation misbehaves the panel is rarely what failed. Valve actuators, relays and wireless modules are the usual pool automation repair, and app control can often be added to a panel that never had it.

Pool automation repair & installation →

Pool Light Repair & Installation

A pool light is the most common reason a GFCI keeps tripping on a pool circuit. The split between a pool light repair and a new pool light comes down to whether water has got past the gasket.

Commercial pool resurfacing, remodeling and equipment repair for Orange County hotels, apartment communities and HOAs, including ADA lifts and commercial heaters and filters.

Common Questions

Pool Remodel and Pool Repair Questions We Get Asked

What does a pool remodel or pool resurfacing job cost in Orange County?
Pool resurfacing in StoneScapes Mini Pebble starts at $9,850 for a standard residential pool, and a full pool remodel depends on how much of the tile, coping and decking you take on at the same time. Every job gets a written, itemized estimate before any work starts. Real numbers for each path are on our pool resurfacing cost and pool remodel cost pages.
Do you only do remodels, or do you repair pool equipment too?
Both, and they are equally core to what we do. Pool pump repair, pool heater repair, pool filter repair, salt systems, automation and pool lights are handled by the same company that would resurface the pool — which matters, because a struggling pump or a restricted filter will shut down a brand-new heater the same way it shut down the old one. Everything is on the pool equipment repair and installation page.
Which pool equipment brands do you work on?
We are an authorized Jandy warranty service center, and Jandy is what we install most often on new work. We diagnose and repair Pentair, Hayward and the other major brands already sitting on your pad — Pentair MasterTemp and IntelliChlor, Jandy JXi and TruClear, Hayward AquaRite and SwimClear among them. Most repair calls are on equipment someone else installed.
Do you need to come out before you can quote?
Usually not. Most estimates are put together remotely from a few clear photos, often confirmed the same day. If the fault is not obvious from photos, an on-site diagnostic visit is $150, credited toward the work if you go ahead.
What areas of Orange County do you serve?
We are based in Fullerton and work across Orange County and parts of Los Angeles County — Anaheim, Brea, Placentia, Yorba Linda, Fullerton, La Habra, Orange, Villa Park, Chino Hills, Diamond Bar, Santa Ana, Tustin, Irvine, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach and the surrounding cities. The full list is on our service areas page, and if your city is not listed it is still worth asking.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. Pool financing is available through Lyon Financial, and you can work out a monthly payment before you commit to anything. Details are on our pool financing page.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — California contractor license #1075061, bonded and insured, and you can verify it yourself on the CSLB website. ACE Pool Repair & Remodel has been working on Orange County pools since 2014, and we are BBB Accredited with an A+ rating.
How long does a pool resurfacing job take?
Most pool resurfacing projects run around two weeks from chip-out to refill, depending on how much tile and coping work goes with it and how the plaster cures. We sequence the equipment pad into the same window where it makes sense, because the pool is already drained and nobody has to work in water.
